This Saturday, take part in the 4th annual AMVETS Post 21 Champion for Children Cornhole Tournament. Proceeds from this event will support the Champion for Children Foundation and provide direct assistance to children and families in need across our community.

Sebring Mason Lodge No 249 will serve an all-you-can-eat BBQ chicken lunch on Sunday, April 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $10 each. The Lodge is located on the corner of Home Avenue & Sebring Parkway. Take out is available and the public is invited. Call Sissel at 471-2425 to find out more.

Saturday, April 21st, the Ridge Area Arc & Waypoints Financial invite you to “Escape to Kokomo” at the Island View Restaurant at Sun’N Lake from 6-10pm. There will be Free margaritas & beer plus a cash bar & dinner too. With music by the California Toe Jam Band. Heartland Happenings Future Events

The Highlands Career Institute at South Florida State College will hold an Open House, Tuesday, April 24th from 5-7pm in Building L, on the Highlands Campus in Avon Park. Parents will hear about HCI’s structure, meet teachers, and learn about various SFSC career and technical programs students are eligible for. For more information call 784-7209.

Thursday, April 26th, the Highlands County Citrus Growers Association invites you to Pinecrest Country Club to play in the Citrus Day Golf Scramble. The cost is $300 per foursome.
$50 gift certificates awarded to the winners of special events.

The 35th annual Blue Streak Classic is Saturday, April 28th at Sun’N Lake Golf Club.
Entry fee is $280 per foursome. Includes one mulligan, lunch, prizes, and range balls.

The Heartland Spartans 2nd annual golf Scramble will be held at Torre Oaks Golf Club, Saturday, April 28th. Entry fee is $200 per team with a shotgun start at 8am. All proceeds pay for travel expenses for the boys 12 and under baseball team as they try to qualify for Nationals.

Get your poker face ready! The Avon Park High School Project Grad is holding a Texas Hold’em Tournament at Cowpoke’s Watering Hole at noon on Saturday, April 28th.
